John Kelly founded Elder Care Global after witnessing firsthand the financial strain and dissatisfying health outcomes for his fathers memory care treatment in the U.S. While living in Mexico, John visited elder care facilities, met with patient advocacy groups, and saw how better care was possible.

John moved his dad from Minnesota to Mexico, and upon settling in, watched the health of his dad improve tremendously, while spending 1/4th of the amount of money to do so.

With 24/7, 1 on 1 care options available and affordable, which is an unheard of option in America without paying a fortune, Mexico offers compassionate, respectful, and more affordable care. John began to see a path to senior care that more people in the U.S. and Canada needed to know about. Now, Elder Care Global supports families by connecting quality care in Mexico, and helps guide logistics and health considerations while alleviating the burden of navigating care transitions during an already challenging time.

Navigating Costly Memory Care with Disappointment in the U.S.

When John's dad needed memory care in Minneapolis, Minnesota, his family struggled to manage relocation with huge costs associated with care. They paid $13,200 per month for care with 9 to 1 caregiver to resident ratios during the day, and 15 to 1 during the night. Lack of compassion from the caregivers, virtually no outdoor time, and high dependence on pharmaceuticals.

John was strongly dissatisfied with the quality of care his dad was receiving, especially for such a high price tag.
